about

"Never Let Your Well Run Dry".

Taking care of yourself is something we have all forgotten how to do. You can exhaust yourself by looking after others and ignoring yourself.

So this song uses the metaphor of a water well, where you are the water. If you let your well run dry, you have no water. Similarly, if you exhaust yourself, you have nothing left for yourself. It's a concept we could all be mindful of.

Chorus
Never let your well run dry
Never let it get so low
Never let them ask you why
No one ever has to know
No never let your well run dry

Verse 1
No matter how wet it gets
Always say you have to check
Say the level’s acting up
You’re hoping you will have enough
You’re hoping you'll have enough

Verse 2
Keep some water in reserve
And you'll never lose your nerve
The weather might be high and dry
There's no rain clouds in the sky
Yeah keep some water in reserve

Chorus

Verse 3
No don't you be that other clown
When no rain is falling down
With a fountain in his yard
He's gonna find it twice as hard
He's gonna find it twice as hard

Bridge
So when you know you’re on reserve
You don’t have that much to serve
Bucket drops and hits the rocks
Don't let them know what you got
Don't let them know what you've got

Chorus x 2
Never let your well run dry
Never let it get so low
Never let them ask you why
Cause no one ever has to know
No never let your well run dry (x 3)
